Description ZiM vintage mechanical wrist watch – 15 jewels MADE IN USSR! Produced on ZIM – Zavod Imeni Maslennikova’ – Maslennikov Watch Factory, city of Samara – Завод им. Масленникова (ЗиМ) Factory was located in the town of Samara (previously called Kuibischev) and produced pipes and parts for artillery shells since 1909. After bolshevik revolution of 1917 it was named after the revolutionary Maslennikov. Watches were produced on factory since 1937. During World War II it was making artillery shells as well. The watch is mechanical and does not need batteries to operate. Original soviet watch has mechanical lever movement and manual winding.
