The Alpinestars SP is the latest addition to their racing boot range and has been developed to offer some of the top-level features you’d expect from an expensive, top-of-the-range shoe, but at a lower price. The SP features a sleek, modern design, mixing high-quality suede, and leather for the upper and para-aramidic tubular lining, providing excellent comfort and also heat protection. This race boot is not what you’d usually expect from a race boot of this price, however, Alpinestars decided to create a great alternate option for those looking for a cheaper boot or perhaps have a lower budget. The SP is ideal for all drivers as it provides top-level features, usually only found in the more expensive racing boots, without compromising the price tag. On top of all of this, the Sp is FIA 8856-2016 Approved, meaning these boots can be worn for all purposes, whether it be for track days, or for more competitive reasons, such as saloon racing or rally, these boots really have it all! The Alpinestars SP race boots feature a dual closure system comprising of hook and loop strap and a traditional lace system with hidden loops, resulting in a neater finish. This system of closure provides a close, comfortable, and secure fit, whilst also being quick and easy to tighten and loosen. The collar and tongue padding is comprised of nitrate rubber, allowing for a comfortable feel, and also reducing the overall weight of the boot. The use of perforations on the tongue padding, and on the lateral and medial sides of the boot provide increased breathability, which will help reduce perspiration, ultimately making the driver feel a lot more comfortable whilst using these boots. Alpinestars have opted to use a tubular lining construction in the SP which provides a more comfortable feel, whilst the liner is made from a heat-resistant para-aramadic material, which is excellent to have in the event of a fire. The SP also features the Formula one derived thin rubber sole, to allow for increased sensitivity, and the unique “tyre tread” provides optimal grip of the pedals, so you always feel in control.
